Looking at the fragile history and limited potential of Runic Games it's true that Torchlight 2 would not be able to fulfill the features or graphics that larger games could include. Ultimately I stayed for the Modding and the community around it. The game by itself was unable to hold me once I explored most of it's content. I liked this game when it came out, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I feel like this is one of the biggest examples of rose colored glasses in all of gaming. The aesthetics were always lacking, not even any little radgoll or environment effects like D3 has to make it a little more interesting it feels like the bare minimum effort was put into any zone to make you feel like, oh there's snow, oh there's some sand. There is no team composition, no useful active skills past your first choice (choose one skill, passive everything else), no real multiplayer, no end game. Ranking, Steam Gamertag, Date completed. I think it only ever got any attention whatsoever because of how badly the D3 launch went, but even that game is far superior to this.

A newer game is suppose to come out, called Din's Legacy.Ĭhronicon is surprisingly fun - no Torchlight but it scratches the itch. Torchlight II releases mod tools and Steam Workshop support. Victor Vran is different - not my cup of tea but something to look into.ĭin's Curse - my absolute favorite for character building but it's VERY old school graphics and the forum is dead. Torchlight II feels like more an adventure than the original, as you’ll cross large outdoor spaces, from stony fields to deserts to poisonous bogs to the murky depths of a steampunk hellscape. Sacred 2 is one of my favorites but it's not well supported and a bit buggy. Torchlight was for me the best hack and slash after Titan Quest (Diablo passed me by).

Goblin Healer (aka Chanter or Shaman) - This magic-using blue Goblin casts fireballs and can use healing spells on his comrades.Goblin Hunter - This green Goblin comes equipped with a bow and fires exploding arrows.Goblin Warrior - These red Goblins have weapons and armor.In Torchlight goblins had inhabited the ruins of Molten Prison, apparently co-existing with Krag, a giant Troll at the bottom of the prison stronghold.
